A former secretary-general of the United Nations; Boutros Boutros-Ghali is dead.
The New York Times reports that the office of the current secretary general, Banki Moon, confirmed his death without specification on where and when he died.
The man, who died at the age of 93, was the first African and the first Arab to have occupied the position of UN secretary general. He was from Egypt.
