Security Scare on Lagos Ibadan Express Road

Following an early morning speculation that members of the Boko Haram sect were going to attack Lagos, the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway today witnessed an unusually heavy presence of policemen drafted from the Area G and Area F police command in Lagos.

The policemen who mounted a roadblock shortly before the long bridge on the approach to Lagos, were backed with armored personnel carriers as they stopped and searched vehicles coming into Lagos.

The stop and search exercise is akin to a similar one being conducted in Abuja following the Nyanya motor park bomb blast that claimed several lives and destroyed properties worth millions of naira.
