Cost of Low Turnout

General voter apathy characterized the governorship and State House of Assembly elections across Lagos. At Polling Unit 009, at INEC office in Yaba, there were 1, 842 registered voters, but only 137 voted.

Aside from this, individuals who made plans to make heavy sales of their goods, particularly, consumables at polling units across the country suffered disappointment as the low turnout of voters also translated to their not making as much sales as they had estimated.

As usual, many food vendors prepared food and stockpiled drinks hoping for a massive turnout of voters, but to their surprise, not up to half of the registered voters turned out to cast their votes.
