The nation woke up to the news of yet another abduction of secondary school students on Friday. Reports say bandits invaded the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangede in the Talata Marafa local government area of Zamfara State and took away the girls. Though the government would not give the exact number of students abducted, it has been officially confirmed that the overnight raid did happen.
The sad news is coming while the authorities are still making efforts to secure the release of 27 school boys abducted from another school in Kagara, Niger State. During the latter raid,  the bandits killed one of the students. A similar abduction had been carried out in Katsina State last year of 344 students by bandits. The sad story of abductions started in 2014 with the abduction of 112 school girls at Chibok in Borno State.
