Abia Warriors Pay N150,000 minimum wage

Ladan Bosso, the Head Coach of Abia Warriors FC on Monday said the club had paid the N150,000 minimum wage to its players as directed by the League Management Company, LMC.

He added that the club was ready for the league resumption on September 17.

“We are ready for the league, the players are well motivated because the club’s management had paid the N150,000 minimum salary in line with the LMC directive. Our players are now unlike others from other clubs who are striking about payments. Abia Warriors have fully adopted the new salary scale and are ready to make an impact in the remaining games of the season,” he said.

Meanwhile the LMC has confirmed the receipt of a letter from the Nigeria Referee Association, NRA expressing their wish to commence officiating in the league.

Bosso describes the NRA action as a good development, hoping it would be the last time they will go on strike.

“I’m very comfortable with the league resumption, it is a very good development and I hope this would be the last time something like this would happen to our league,” Bosso said.

Abia Warriors currently are seventh on the Nigeria Professional Football League table with 37 points from 25 games, with 11 wins, four draws, and 10 losses.

Abia Warriors’ next game is against Giwa FC of Jos on September 17 in Umuahia in the rescheduled Week 26 match.
