Angry youths in Umuoke community in Obowo local government area of Imo State have set a police station on fire after a police officer was said to have killed one of them.
The police station at Umuoke was set ablaze when a youth identified as Ikenna Ogbunigwe was confirmed dead at Mercy Hospital within the community, following gun shot by the police officer.
Upon his death, one of his friends led a violent protest to the police station, where he carted away firearms from the station and released detainees.
In the fracas that ensued, the divisional police officer, DPO, was said to have narrowly escaped.
According to eye witness account, the deceased was shot dead by the police officer over a minor argument at a restaurant.Follow Us on Social Media
