The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15, 2026 Osun State election, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured residents that he will not betray their confidence if elected governor.

Oyebamiji made the pledge on Sunday during a strategic meeting with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors in Osogbo, where he reiterated his commitment to serving the people with dedication and integrity.

The APC flagbearer was represented at the engagement by Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, who delivered the candidate’s message to the professional body.

“I want to assure you again that I will not betray your trust if you give me your votes. I am contesting to serve you with all my strength, and I will not disappoint you,” Oyebamiji said.

The former Commissioner for Finance said his seven-point development blueprint, tagged PROSPERITY, was specifically designed to tackle the pressing needs of the people and drive inclusive growth across the state.

According to him, the agenda focuses on poverty alleviation, workers’ welfare, job creation, transparency and accountability, economic expansion, security, education, and strategic infrastructure development.

Oyebamiji described himself as a God-fearing leader who values integrity and pledged to fulfil every promise made during the campaign.

“As a true believer in God, who fears and respects the Supreme Being, I will honour whatever promises are made during the campaign,” he stated.

The APC candidate also assured members of the tailoring association that his administration would prioritize Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through targeted interventions aimed at strengthening businesses and creating sustainable economic opportunities.

“You are men and women of high calibre. Your contributions to the growth of the state’s economy through your skills cannot be overlooked,” he told the association.

Oyebamiji urged voters to ignore what he described as campaigns of calumny from opposition parties, insisting that his detailed development plans had unsettled rival political camps.

“Since I unveiled my action plans, members and leaders of the opposition have been feeling the heat. They are quite intimidated and confused,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the implementation of the PROSPERITY agenda would reposition Osun State for accelerated development and improved living standards.

Responding on behalf of the association, its chairman, Rasheed Balogun, praised Oyebamiji for what he described as sincerity, competence and a genuine passion to serve the state.

Balogun recalled Oyebamiji’s tenure as Commissioner for Finance and expressed confidence in his ability to translate campaign promises into tangible results.

“We are for you,” Balogun declared, pledging the support and votes of members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors.

The engagement forms part of Oyebamiji’s ongoing consultations with professional associations and key stakeholders across Osun State as political activities intensify ahead of the crucial August 15 governorship election.
