Ahead of the 2017-2018 football calendar, soccer ruling body, FIFA, has granted media rights to five broadcasting companies in sub-Saharan Africa. The announcement of the successful media followed an “open tender process for 42 territories” to that effect. The rights guarantees coverage of  FIFA events during  2017-2018, which include FIFA U-20 World Cup 2017; FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017; FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2017; FIFA Confederations Cup 2017; FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2018;

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has approved the establishment of the Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN) Plc.
