How Kano Protesters Lost Control

Kano

Perhaps the situation in Kano may have been without crisis, as protesters approached the gate of the Government House with confidence haven been promised the previous day by the governor, Alhaji Abba Yusuf that they were free to protest and that he would be willing not just to take their requests to President Bola Tinubu, but also join them in the protest.
When the leaders got to the gate of Kano State Government House, they saw a crowd of young children. Of course, they seemed to be happy with the crowd they saw when they converged in front of the government house. Unfortunately, they were oblivious of the fact that those they met were anything but protesters.

The protesters wanted to see governor, but the hoodlums weren’t going to wait. They attempted to barge into the government house. When they became unruly despite appeal by the police, the law enforcement agents pushed them back and refused to open the gate. For them, they knew that if they were already pushing in against the police, they would be difficult to control once they access the Government House.
That preemptive measure turned to something else. For that was when problem started. They gave the police some tough time before the law enforcement agents succeeded in pushing them back. Not even the leaders could calm them down.

So, after the police had succeeded in pushing the urchins back, they moved all over town and descended on anything on their way especially private individuals’ businesses. Even traffic lights were not spared.
