Nigerian adult film actress Mareme Edet has sparked social media debate after revealing her hopes for marriage and the kind of partner she dreams of having — one who can see beyond her controversial career.
In a candid conversation, Edet explained that while she has been deeply involved in the adult entertainment industry, she envisions a future where she leaves acting behind, transitions into producing, and builds a meaningful marriage.
“I still want a husband that would understand me,” she said. “Someone who could have his day-to-day life but also share that secret side with me — from threesomes to hosting private parties, even just watching others without joining in. But how can I find that man?”
Edet admitted that her career creates a barrier to meeting genuine partners. “Anybody that comes to me now would think I’m freaky, crazy, naughty… but I want someone who sees more than that. At some point, I’ll stop acting, but I’ll still be myself.”
She also reflected on the deeper meaning of marriage beyond sex and children. “If the whole experience and gain from the marriage is worth it, then that’s all that matters,” she concluded.
Her statement has since gone viral, igniting conversations on love, trust, and acceptance for people with unconventional career paths.
