Jideonwo, Williams Others Bag 2014 CNBC Africa Award

Chude Jideonwo, 29 and Adebola Williams, 28, co-founders of Red Media Africa have emerged winners of the 2014 edition of CNBC Africa All Africa Young Business Leader of the year.

The young Nigerians are the founders of Future Awards Africa, Y! Africa – the magazine, Ynaija.com and Red Communication. The innovation that gave them the recognision as Africa’s leading youth media network.

Presenting the award to the duo, Ricki Wahi, founder, Forbes Africa and CNBC Africa said “The AABLA is given to those captains of industry who have made a qualitative and quantitative difference.”

Others who also won various awards are: Arunma Oteh, Director General of the
Securities and Exchange Commission, as Business Woman of the Year; Tayo Oviosu of Paga, as Entrepreneur of the Year;and Atedo Peterside, Chairman, StanbicIBTC as Business Leader of the Year.

The award is aimed at celebrating most impactful visionaries in a variety of categories on the African continent.

Apart from the fact that Jideonwo and Williams were listed by Forbes as one of Africa’s best entrepreneurs under 30 in 2013, the duo have also been featured as one of Nigeria’s 40 leading entrepreneurs under 40 by BusinessDay newspaper in the same year.
