Lagos: Tight Security In INEC Office

There is watertight security in the Lagos State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Saturday morning as the Commission’s collation officers are about to leave for the various registration centers in the state.

As at the time of filing this report, the officers who are to collate the votes at the various local government areas in the state were still grouping to depart the INEC office.

Meanwhile, accreditation of voters has commenced at unit 009, St. Agnes Primary School, Alagomeji registration centre directly opposite INEC office on the Yaba area of Lagos.

However, whereas there was impressive early voters’ turn out for the accreditation, the process started behind the 8am official time in many parts of the areas in the state. When asked what was responsible for the late commencement of the accreditation in most parts of the local government, Akinbiyi said “I am not aware of that. I will find out.”

Olufemi Akinbiyi, the state commission’s spokesman informed TELL that all materials have been distributed to the 8,462 poling units in the state.
