Olusegun Mimiko, the Ondo State governor, on Friday, ordered the withdrawal of security details of Ali Olanusi, the deputy governor of the state.
The development came some hours after Olanusi defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC barely two days to the presidential election.
Although the state governor has not given any reason for the action, many observers feel the action might not be unconnected with Olanusi’s defection to the APC.
Meanwhile, sources close to the deputy governor say he has left his official quarters over fear of possible attack that might be instigated by his action.
