In a startling revelation, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of making inappropriate advances toward her and allegedly retaliating after she rejected him.

Speaking on Arise TV’s Morning Show, Akpoti-Uduaghan described her ordeal as “a student being punished by a lecturer for refusing to sleep with him.” She alleged that her issues with Akpabio began on December 8, 2023, when she and her husband attended his birthday celebration in Akwa Ibom.

According to the senator, during a tour of Akpabio’s home, he held her hand in her husband’s presence and suggested she should “spend special moments” with him. She further claimed that her husband, disturbed by the remark, later warned her never to be alone with Akpabio or travel abroad without his company.

Akpoti-Uduaghan also alleged that Akpabio told her she could enjoy significant privileges if she “took good care of him,” implying that her refusal led to political backlash.

The accusations have triggered widespread outrage, with many demanding a response from the Senate President.

Weighing in on the scandal, wife of the senate president, Mrs. Unoma Akpabio at a press briefing on Friday, vowed to sue Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan, describing her allegations as lies, unfounded and a figment of her imagination.

She described her husband as a disciplined, jovial man with respect for women.
