Nick Walker has finally conquered the biggest stage in professional bodybuilding, winning the 2026 Mr. Olympia Men’s Open title in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 26.

The American bodybuilder, popularly known as “The Mutant,” captured his first Sandow Trophy after a dramatic battle against Samson Dauda and two-time Mr. Olympia champion Derek Lunsford.

The 2026 contest, the 62nd edition of Mr. Olympia, was held during Olympia Weekend in Las Vegas, with the Men’s Open finals taking place at the Orleans Arena. Walker emerged at the top of a highly competitive field featuring several of the biggest names in modern bodybuilding.

Walker’s victory marked the culmination of a remarkable comeback after he finished sixth at the 2025 Olympia. Before Saturday’s triumph, his best Mr. Olympia result had been third place in 2022.

This time, however, Walker arrived with a noticeably improved overall package, combining his trademark muscularity and density with sharper conditioning and a more refined presentation.

The transformation was already evident during Friday’s prejudging, when Walker shared the final callout with Lunsford, Dauda and Nigerian-born Chinedu “Andrew Jacked” Obiekea. The four athletes emerged as the leading contenders heading into the finals.

Walker ultimately maintained his advantage when it mattered most.

Dauda, the British bodybuilder and former Olympia champion, pushed Walker hard and finished second, while Lunsford, who entered the competition as the defending champion, settled for third.

Andrew Jacked completed the top four, with Tonio Burton finishing fifth. Generation Iron confirmed Walker as the 2026 champion and listed the $600,000 first-place prize attached to his victory.

Walker’s win was particularly significant because of the doubts surrounding his prospects after his disappointing 2025 Olympia showing. His sixth-place finish had raised questions about whether he could return to the top level of the Men’s Open division.

He responded by rebuilding his physique and regaining momentum during the 2026 season. Earlier in the year, Walker finished runner-up to Andrew Jacked at the Arnold Classic before securing his Olympia qualification with a victory at the Tampa Pro. His progress had already prompted Dauda to identify him as a major threat ahead of Olympia.

The 2026 Olympia field was particularly notable for its depth, with several former champions competing for the Sandow Trophy. Walker had to overcome Dauda, Lunsford and a field that also included former champion Brandon Curry.

For Walker, Saturday’s result finally delivered the title that had eluded him throughout his career.

The victory also gave the American the distinction of becoming the latest name to join the exclusive list of Mr. Olympia champions.

Beyond the judges’ decision, Walker also received strong support from fans, winning the People’s Champ Award, adding another major recognition to a night that will stand as the defining achievement of his bodybuilding career.

After years of injuries, setbacks, criticism and near-misses, Nick Walker can now officially call himself Mr. Olympia.
