Omobola Johnson, Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Communications Technology, will lead a delegation of Nigerians to Qatar for the 2014 edition of the Telecom World organised by the International Telecommunications Union, ITU.
The event, scheduled to hold from December 7 to December 10, 2014 is a principal platform for debate, networking and showcasing for the global Information and Communication Technology community. It is set to hold at Doha, Qatar’s capital.
As contained in a statement from the ITU, Johnson has been listed among visionary speakers drawn from governmental institutions and private sector to speak at the event.
Hamadoun Touré, ITU Secretary-General said, “The quality of world-class speakers gathering at ITU Telecom World 2014 will provide expert insight and analysis of the ICT sector at this critical period of transformation.”
He assured that the event would be an exclusively important opportunity to harness the potential of ICT to shape its global future.
This year’s edition of Telecom World themed, “Future in Focus,” would feature debates on three central topics, which include industry disruption, cross-sector partnerships and the intelligent future.
Each of these would be examined from the contrasting perspectives of business, technology and policy.
