Obafemi Awolowo University Shut

Authorities of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU Ile-Ife, Osun State have shut the university indefinitely following sustained protests by students over increase in school fees.

The university management announced the closure of the school on Wednesday afternoon.

“The university authorities have decided to close down the university indefinitely in order to safeguard lives and properties on campus. All students are directed to vacate their halls of residence and university premises immediately and not later than 12 p.m. on June 19. Parents are hereby asked to ensure that their children/wards comply with this directive immediately,’’ a statement from the university read.
