Okpebholo Swears-in Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health

Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, the first son of Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State, has been sworn-in as the state’s Commissioner for Health by Governor Monday Okpebholo.
Okpebholo charged Oshiomhole, a medical doctor, to hit the ground running in addressing the many challenges of the health sector and take it to the next level.
The event, which held at the Executive Chambers of the Government House, was attended by the Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, Secretary to the State Government, (SSG) Musa Umar Ikhilor, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Gani Audu, Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, Permanent Secretaries, among others.
A statement by the chief press secretary to the governor, Fred Itua, said Governor Okpebholoo, in his charge to Dr. Oshiomhole, highlighted the many challenges facing the state’s health sector, and directed him to hit the ground running, while assuring him of his administration’s support in ensuring that he succeeded in his assignment.
Senator Okpebholo said “You need to know that there are challenges ahead and we need to face the challenges head-on and ensure a vibrant, efficient and effective healthcare sector in the state.
“We need to work hard, face the challenges and move the Ministry of Health forward. This is a challenge we must face and ensure our people receive quality healthcare. With hard work, commitment and dedication, we will deliver the dividends of democracy to Edo people”.
In his response, Dr Oshiomhole thanked the Governor for the privilege to serve the people of Edo State, promising that “I will do my best, put in my experiences and knowledge towards ensuring that Edo people enjoy quality healthcare services. I promise to do my best and work according to law”.
