The National Working Committee of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has suspended Hon. Olasoji Adagunodo, Osun state chairman of the party.

In a letter sent to the suspended chairman dated 30th April 2020 and signed by Senator Umaru Tsauri, National Secretary of the party, Adagunodo was ordered to step aside as the chairman of the party in Osun state immediately and hand over the affairs of the party in the state to the Deputy Chairman.

According to the letter, the National Working Committee of the party had set up a Committee sometimes ago to investigate complaints of malfeasance, maladministration and anti-party activities leveled against Adagunodo by stakeholders of the party in the state.

Senator Tsauri in the letter observed that the NWC of the party found merits in the allegations and has reached the conclusion that Adagunodo should be suspended from office.

The National Secretary further directed that Adagunodo should on the receipt of his letter immediately, “hand over all the documents and property of the party in your custody to the State Deputy Chairman who shall henceforth act as the State Chairman and you are hereby notified that your case has been handed over to the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) of our party to consider why other disciplinary actions cannot be taken against you in line with our party constitution.”

All efforts to speak with Hon. Adagunodo and other officials of the party proved abortive as none of them responded to text messages and calls to their numbers.
