‘I am Not Quitting Music for Politics’ – 9ice

Abolore Akande, otherwise known as 9ice, the ‘Gongo Aso’ crooner, has said he is not quitting the entertainment industry for politics.

This, he disclosed, in an interview with TELL while discussing why he is making a foray into partisan politics.

9ice who said music is everlasting for him, is contesting for the Ogbomosho North Federal constituency seat in Oyo State in the 2015 general elections.

“Music is everlasting and talent will always remain there. But for now I have other priorities. So far I have 7 albums and I intend to release more in the future,” he said.

He added that he is amazed at the rate at which some of his colleagues in the entertainment industry also decided to toe the same path almost at the same time he decided to do so.

“I am surprised most of my colleagues both my senior and mate in the entertainment industry took up the same challenge at the same time as mine. I pray we all succeed if it is God wish,” he said.
