Mrs. Folashade Odumosu, wife of a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has been safely rescued from her abductors by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command one week after she was seized by some gunmen.

The high-profile operation, which took place on January 23, 2025, resulted in her recovery, unharmed, after a harrowing experience in captivity.
The incident began on January 16, 2025, at around 9:45 pm, when four masked gunmen ambushed Mrs. Odumosu outside her residence in Arepo, Ogun State, forcing her out of her Lexus Jeep and whisked her away.
Police authorities said the alarming act triggered an immediate and comprehensive response from the anti-kidnapping unit of the Ogun State Police Command which, leveraging advanced technical intelligence support from Force Headquarters, launched an extensive surveillance operation across the creeks surrounding Arepo.

According to the police, meticulous intelligence gathering led the team to a swampy hideout in Ikorodu, where the kidnappers were reportedly strategising their next move.
The decisive raid was said to have occurred at approximately 6:45 am Thursday January 23, 2025.
Upon arrival, the operatives reportedly came under heavy gunfire from the kidnappers which the police also responded to.
The police said “In the intense exchange, two suspects were neutralized, while four others managed to flee, abandoning their weapons and other items. Despite the confrontation, Mrs. Odumosu was rescued safely from the swamp.
