Seriake Dickson, Bayelsa State governor, yesterday said he would want a woman to succeed him by the time he leaves office.

Dickson, who spoke at the state secretariat of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in Yenagoa, during the State Executive Council, SEC meeting, said, “when I have to vacate my seat at the end of my tenure as governor of Bayelsa State, I have to search for a woman to succeed me.”

The governor urged female politicians to seek for elective positions and promised to give them support to realize their ambition, describing PDP as a women affable party.

He further said party members should be set to have more women members in the next state House of Assembly and other elective positions.
