Adekunbi Ero
A military plane which had on board Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru, a Lieutenant General, has crashed killing all the passengers and crew. The accident reportedly happened around 6 pm Friday.
No fewer than 11 other persons yet to be identified were said to be on the training plane which was trying to land at the Kaduna Airport amidst torrential rainfall when it crashed leaving no survivors.
Confirming the tragic incident, Edward Gabkwet, Air Commodore, Director of Public Relations and Information, in a terse statement via the official Twitter handle of the Nigerian Air Force (@NigAirForce) on Friday evening confirmed the crash but was silent on the actual casualties.
