Bomb blast hits Yemen capital

Not less than 15 people have been killed in a bomb blast outside a police college in the Yemen capital, Sanaa on Wednesday, January 7.

Security sources said a car bomb had been detonated outside a police academy killing at least 15 people and wounding 40 others.

Yemen has been the site of numerous bombings and other attacks as various groups wrestle for power in a country that has struggled with security challenges since the popular uprising three years ago that ousted longtime leader Ali Abdullah Saleh.
