CAF ban JS Kabylie over player’s death

Algerian club Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie, JS kabylie has been barred from African competitions for two years over the fatal assault on Cameroonian footballer Albert Ebosse. African football body Confederation of African Football CAF took the decision during a meeting in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa. Kabylie finished runners-up in the Algerian title race last season, entitling them to compete in the 2015 CAF Champions League. CAF acted after Algerian football authorities ordered Kabylie to stage home fixtures behind closed doors at neutral venues this season. Albert Ebosse died in hospital last month from head injuries having being struck by a piece of slate allegedly thrown by a Kabylie supporter upset at a defeat. Ebosse was hit as he left the field at the end of a league match Kabylie lost 2-1 to Algiers club Union Sportive Medina d’Alger, USMA.
