Paul Obiefule, a resident of Agege, a suburb in Lagos State, and his wife have allegedly beaten Onyedikachi Mbanozo, their ward to death, according to the police.
In a statement made available to reporters, Ngozi Braide, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, said a team of patrol officers of the Pen-Cinema division of the command stormed No. 22, Omitola Street, Agege, resident of the couple following a tip off that the boy was missing hours he was beaten to stupor by the duo.
“On receipt of the information police patrol vehicles moved to the scene and brought the suspects and the deceased to the station for a detailed investigation,” the statement read.
In the meantime, the couple is currently being detained at the station for investigation while the body of Mbanozo has been deposited in the mortuary.
Mbanozo who was until his untimely death been living with the couple, was said to had suffered many severe manhandling in the hands of Obiefule and his wife.
