Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly denied renewed paternity claims linking him to a teenage girl, insisting that multiple DNA tests have conclusively shown he is not her biological father.
The controversy resurfaced after a lengthy emotional statement attributed to Ayo Labinjo, the mother of the teenager, began trending across social media platforms, including Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). In the post, Labinjo accused Davido of harassment, bullying, and refusing to take responsibility for her daughter, whom she claims has suffered severe emotional distress over the years due to the unresolved paternity dispute.
According to her account, the matter dates back several years, during which she alleged that earlier DNA processes were mishandled and that the situation negatively affected her daughter’s mental health, leading to therapy and academic struggles. She also called for an independent DNA test supervised by international authorities, citing Davido’s status as a U.S. citizen.
In response to the renewed allegations, Davido issued a firm rebuttal in the comments section of an Instagram post and later reiterated his position on X. The singer stated that he had taken five separate DNA tests, all of which returned negative results.
“I’ve taken five DNA tests — all negative. I am not your father. I’ve never even met your mom. This needs to stop,” Davido wrote.
Further addressing public curiosity, the award-winning artist explained that the tests were conducted at five different hospitals, with three facilities chosen by him and two selected by the other party, all yielding the same outcome.
“Yes, I chose three hospitals, and they chose their own two hospitals. All came out negative. This is the last time I’m speaking on this nonsense,” he added.
The exchange has sparked intense debate online, with fans, commentators, and social media users expressing mixed reactions. While some have called for compassion and urged a peaceful resolution, others have criticized the public nature of the dispute, particularly given the involvement of a minor.
As of the time of filing this report, no court documents or official legal proceedings confirming either party’s claims have been made public. Both sides appear deeply entrenched, with Davido insisting the matter is closed, while the girl’s mother maintains that justice has not yet been served.
The situation highlights the growing impact of social media on sensitive personal disputes involving public figures, raising broader questions about privacy, accountability, and the welfare of minors in viral controversies.
