The Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS) has taken its services beyond Benin City, Edo State capital, opening new offices in Ekpoma and Auchi in its bid to effectively cover the three senatorial districts of the state.
Hitherto, EDOGIS had operated mainly in the capital city and environs in Edo South senatorial district. However, two new offices have now been opened in Ekpoma, Edo Central, and Auchi in Edo North, in a bid to bring its services closer to the people.
The Edo State Geographic Information Service (EDOGIS) has the mandate to administer land resources in the state, thereby computerising land across the state.
A press statement signed by the Director of Information, Tunde Egbiremolen, and made available to newsmen, said the Senator Monday Okpebholo-led administration had found it necessary to take the services to the grassroots because of its desire to reduce land crises amongst its citizens.
The statement said the EDOGIS office in Ekpoma is domiciled at the Esan West Local Government Council Secretariat along Ekpoma-Benin Expressway, while the Auchi office is located at the Etsako West Local Government Secretariat building.
