Joshua, Nigeria’s Popular Tele-evangelist is Dead

Temitope Joshua, pastor and founder of The Synagogue Church of All Nations has been reported dead. A statement from his church Sunday morning said he died on Saturday June 5th after a church service. It said that Joshua spoke during that service as if he had had a revelation about his demise, when he said, “Time for everything -time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service. “

Temitope Balogun Joshua, known as T. B. Joshua was known throughout the world for his healing powers, for which presidents and influential leaders visit his church here in Nigeria for spiritual consultations. For that purpose he is said to have contributed so much to the tourism aspect of the economy.

In its August-September 2012 edition Joshua was one of the 50 influential persons of THE AFRICA REPORT magazine. In that edition, the magazine listed among “few heavyweights” who have patronised his church people like “Ghana’s President John Arts Mills (now a former president), (former) Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangiral and Nigeria’s (former) first lady Patience Jonathan”. A year before that time Forbes had reported that he had a net worth of $10-15 million.Prophet Joshua, known for his philanthropy, died a week to his 58th birthday. Pastor Joshua, in a video wishing himself a happy birthday, , had told his admirers all over the world, to dedicate the day, June 12, to prayer and fasting as it would not be easy for him to celebrate because of COVID-19. He also enjoined them not to forget the needy, stating that “by the grace of God, more birthdays are ahead”.
