Lagos Celebrates the Life of Arit Adesuwa Nosa-Igiebor, Wife of Tell Magazine President, As Final Farewell Holds Today

A wave of love, honour, and remembrance fills the air this afternoon at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, where the Celebration of Life Reception for Mrs. Arit Adesuwa Nosa-Igiebor — beloved wife of Mr. Nosa Igiebor, OON, President of Tell Communications Limited — is currently taking place.

Family, friends, media executives, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across Nigeria and beyond have gathered to pay their final respects to a woman described as the quiet strength behind one of Nigeria’s most influential media leaders.

Mrs. Igiebor, who passed away on March 30, 2025, at the age of 70, was celebrated for her warmth, humility, and strong moral compass. As the wife of an iconic journalist and media pioneer, she was a pillar of support through decades of fearless journalism, democratic struggles, and service to the nation.

The final journey began on Thursday, June 26, with a touching Service of Songs and Tribute at Classique Events Place, Oregun, Ikeja, where tributes flowed freely. On Friday, June 27, a Lying-in- State at her residence in Kingsize Estate, Oregun, and a Funeral Service at The Chapel, Ikoyi Vaults & Gardens, gave loved ones a chance to say goodbye in solemn reverence.

Today’s Celebration of Life Reception, which commenced at 2:00 PM, brings the farewell to a close in the most fitting way — surrounded by music, vibrant asoebi, heartfelt speeches, and deep expressions of gratitude for a life well lived.

Guests continue to pour in, reflecting the wide-reaching impact Mrs. Igiebor had as a mother, friend, mentor, and symbol of quiet grace.
