Rauf Aregbesola,governor of Osun State has urged Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the newly elected Ooni of Ile Ife to always seek the interest of the people in his dealings. He said this at the coronation ceremony and presentation of staff and instrument of office to the new king on Monday. “The king must rule with fear of God,intgrity and tolerance. You have come to t’he throne at t’he time of great need for cooperation in Yorubaland”,he said. The governor also stressed the need for Ogunwusi to mobilise the people of Ile Ife to coorporate with the government in fulfilment of thier civic responsibilities as well has support in developmental projects. In his speech, t’he new Ooni thanked t’he people and t’he audience and emphasized the need for the leaders in the country to help improve the lot of Nigerian youths. He also said the youths and Nigerians at large should always look at t’he positivity of all leaders and situations. “Nobody is perfect. We all have our potentials. We need to coorporate”. Ogunwusi also promised to sustain peaceful co-existence among the kings in Yorubaland. Ogunwusi also said he would focus on engaging the youths and also improve t’he social,economic and cultural values of Ile Ife and Yorubaland.The king dedicated his staff to the youths of Ile Ife and Nigeria at large.
The event drew royalties from across the country,politicians,academia,captains of industries and other dignitaries like Yemi Osibajo,vice president,Gani Adams and governors of Ogun,Oyo,Lagos.
