“The problems facing Nigeria is complicated by circumstantial leaders; people who never prepared to rule neighborhoods, not to talk of ruling states or a nation.”
These were the words of Shola Owoeye, Youth Evangelist for North western Nigeria Division of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG.
Speaking today at the leadership summit of the RCCG Lagos Province 10 Youth Convention which took place at Sunshine Parish, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, Owoeye said youths of nowadays need to get themselves prepared for leadership roles so as to function effectively when they finally attain their preordained leadership tasks.
The pastor cited accountability, teachability, sincerity, humility, discipline and other positive values as prerequisites for functional leadership. He urged the youths to do away with ego and pride and to never set limits for their own greatness.
Owoeye also charged the youths to see themselves as future rulers and national leaders and start getting prepared for the feat.
