Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, the juju music legend has urged up and coming gospel artistes to be focused, prayerful and completely depend on God.
He said this on Wednesday at the All Star Thanksgiving And Awards Reception, organized by Grace-Way Chapel International to mark its 2nd anniversary celebration.
“A gospel artiste must be committed to his calling and never allow money to corrupt his vision,” Obey-Fabiyi said.
The Septuagenarian was one of the gospel artistes decorated with anniversary lapels and plaque for their roles in the promotion of gospel music in Nigeria and beyond.
Other gospel music icons decorated at the event are Joseph Adelakun, popularly known as Ayewa, Deborah Fasoyin, Bola Are, and Ojo Ade.
Tunde Kajogbola, the host pastor, said the essence of the award reception was not only to celebrate the artistes but also to encourage other up-and -coming gospel artistes to emulate them and remain relevant in their ministries.
Grace-Way Chapel International, which was founded on January 1, 2013 with 13 members, amazingly now records about 850 attendance on Sundays. The ministry has commitment to many including caring for the widows, orphans, physically challenged and the poor among others.
“God has been faithful to us and we will remain committed to our vision of winning souls for Christ,” Kajogbola said.
