Frederick Shaibu, younger brother of Edo State deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, was on Wednesday set free by his abductors.

Recall that the younger Shaibu was kidnapped on Monday by gunmen while driving his kids to school in Irhirhi, in the outskirts of Benin.

Elated by his release, the family was however silent on the amount paid as ransom. A family source merely confirmed that he had been released and was in good health.

According to the source, “I can tell you authoritatively that Frederick has been released to the family and he is in good health. The family is happy to have him and he is also excited to rejoin his family after his ordeal in the hands of his abductors.”
