Contrary to earlier plans by the Nigerian senate to screen Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi on Tuesday in relation to his ministerial appointment by Muhammadu Buhari, the Senate has decided to postpone the exercise. The former Rivers State governor may now be screened Wednesday, October 21. Also, the senate, unlike previous days, has reduced the number of people it screens daily. As a result, only three nominees will appear before it Tuesday. These are Claudius Omoyele Daramola, a professor and nominee from Ondo State, Khadija Abba Ibrahim from Yobe and Adebayo Shittu from Oyo state. Dino Maleye, a senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, explaining the reason for the reduction in number of ministerial nominees to be screened, said the decision was a response to the agitation and yearnings of Nigerians who expected the exercise to be more rigorous.
