Richard Osuolale Akinjide, second republic attorney general and minister of justice is dead. He died early Tuesday in his Ibadan home. Reports say he had been ill, though the nature of the illness is yet unknown. But he had not been at home and under medical care. Akinjide, an erudite lawyer was a federal commissioner in the first republic before becoming an influential minister in the administration of President Shehu Shagari during the second republic.
