Abdulfatah Ahmed, Kwara State governor, on Thursday won the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primaries with a total of 3,016 votes.
The incumbent governor, who was the sole candidate at the primary, was about two months ago endorsed by Bukola Saraki, his political leader, for a second term of office.
Declaring the result of the voting exercise, Azu Uwandu, the leader of the national delegation of APC at the convention, said the incumbent governor scored total of 3,016 valid votes cast, while nine of the votes were invalid.
He commended the delegates for conducting themselves peacefully during the election and assured them that the party being a peaceful party will surely form government in the state and at the national level.
