Three months after assuming the position of President and Vice President of Nigeria, details of the asset declaration which Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo made to the Code of Conduct Bureau have been revealed. Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity) in a release Thursday, gave details of the duo’s assets. He announced that “President Buhari had less than N30 million to his name,” in Union Bank as well as “ a total of five homes, and two mud houses in Daura.” The homes are located in Kaduna, Kano, Daura and Abuja. Apart from houses, the President also owns two undeveloped plots in Kano and Port Harcourt. Other assets listed as belonging to President Buhari are “farms, an orchard and a ranch,” with “270 heads of cattle, 25 sheep, five horses, a variety of birds… a number of cars,” as well as shares in Berger paints, Union Bank and Sky Bank. Osinbajo, according to Shehu, “declared a bank balance of about N94 million and 900,000 United States Dollars in his bank accounts.” The Vice President also owns “4-bedroom residence at Victoria Garden City, Lagos and a 3-bedroom flat at 2 Mosley Road, Ikoyi…a 2-bedroom flat at the popular Redemption Camp along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and a 2-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England.” Osinbajo is also a shareholder in “six private companies based in Lagos, including Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd. and MTN Nigeria” and owns “one Infinity 4-Wheel Drive SUV, one Mercedes Benz and a Prado Jeep.”Follow Us on Social Media
