Chelsea await Arsenal or Crystal Palace as holders Newcastle set for heavyweight clash with Manchester City
The road to Wembley is now clearly defined after the Carabao Cup semi-final draw produced mouth-watering fixtures involving some of the Premier League’s biggest names, setting the stage for a thrilling conclusion to the 2025/2026 competition.
Chelsea sealed their semi-final place with a confident 3–1 victory over Cardiff City and will face the winner of the quarter-final clash between Arsenal and Crystal Palace. The first leg of the tie is scheduled for the week commencing January 12, 2026, at Stamford Bridge, with the return leg to be played at either the Emirates Stadium or Selhurst Park.
In the second semi-final, defending champions Newcastle United have been drawn against Manchester City in what is widely seen as the standout tie of the round. City progressed after a solid 2–0 win over Brentford, while Newcastle kept their title defence alive with a dramatic late victory over Fulham.
