The influencer was docked on Friday before Justice D.I. Dipeolu at the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos, on a two-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing.

According to court documents, Blessing CEO allegedly obtained the sum of N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye between July 14 and 17, 2024, under the alleged false claim of securing a six-bedroom detached duplex located at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, Off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos.

The prosecution further accused the influencer of fraudulently converting the N36 million, said to belong to the complainant, for personal use.

During the proceedings, defence counsel P.I. Nwafor informed the court that the defendant had already refunded N24 million to the petitioner and requested a short adjournment to enable settlement of the outstanding balance.

The lawyer also told the court that the complainant was willing to withdraw the matter if the remaining amount was paid in full.

However, prosecution counsel S.I. Suleiman opposed the request, insisting that the matter should proceed because the complainant in the criminal case is the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Justice Dipeolu subsequently ruled that settlement discussions could continue independently while the case remained before the court and directed the defendant to take her plea.

Blessing CEO pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following the plea, the prosecution asked the court to remand the influencer in a correctional facility pending trial, while the defence argued that the defendant had only been served with the charge sheet on Thursday, May 14, and was still preparing her bail application.

The court thereafter ordered that Blessing CEO be remanded in EFCC custody pending the perfection of her bail conditions.

Justice Dipeolu adjourned the matter until June 5, 2026, for the commencement of trial.

The arraignment has since triggered widespread reactions on social media, with fans and followers expressing shock over the allegations against the controversial relationship influencer known for her outspoken lifestyle and relationship advice content.
