The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a strong warning to Nigerians about impostors conducting fake raids while posing as EFCC officials.

Dele Oyewale, the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, revealed that many of those breaking into homes under the guise of the commission are fraudsters.

“Most times, those breaking into houses are not EFCC officials. Always call us to verify their identities,” Oyewale stated, urging the public to exercise caution and confirm the authenticity of any EFCC operation before cooperating.

This statement comes amid rising concerns over fraudulent individuals impersonating law enforcement agents to extort money from unsuspecting victims. The EFCC emphasized that all legitimate operations follow strict protocols, including proper identification and official communication.

Nigerians are advised to contact the EFCC directly through their official hotlines or social media channels to verify any suspicious activity. The commission reassures the public of its commitment to transparency and lawful enforcement of anti-corruption measures.
