FUTA Signs MoU With Kenyan InstituteThe Federal University of Technology, FUTA Akure, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU with a Kenya-based African Network for Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Education, ANAFE. According to the management, the MoU is part of efforts to boost the school’s internationalization drive through collaboration with world-class institutions.

The Memorandum with the purpose of promoting each party’s vision, mission and objectives as well as strengthening mutual relationships, is also designed to facilitate partnership and collaboration in Agriculture, Agroforestry and Natural Resources Management Education and Research and community outreach.

Parts of the terms of the agreement is for FUTA to be the leading member institution of ANAFE in Nigeria with a mandate to spearhead the establishment and promotion of the regional chapter of the network.

“Building bridges between African Institutions will further develop the continent,” excited  Adebiyi Daramola, FUTA ‘s Vice-Chancellor said.  He also expressed a conviction that the collaboration will further empower FUTA scholars to contribute more robustly to the search for food security and to make agriculture a key contributor to the country’s economy.

That was also the position of Aissetou Drame Yaye, the Executive Secretary of ANAFE who commended Daramola and his team for buying into the idea.
