Gambia is set to host an international conference on Ebola elimination in West Africa from February 26 to 28.
The event organized by the Sierra Leone Embassy in Gambia in collaboration with the Gambian Ministry of Health, is aimed at complementing the efforts to fight Ebola in Sierra Leone.
Soulay Daramy, Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Gambia said, “It is designed to hold a soul searching discussion on the roots and branches of the cause of Ebola, its origins, effects and other complications.”
He added that, “We will have scientists, journalists, politicians, biologists and other renowned professionals from across the world to this Banjul conference.
“We are hopeful that such a meeting is essential to sensitizing the people both in Africa and beyond to ensure a proper comprehension of the issues surrounding this Ebola sickness.”
