The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested Ikedi Ohakim, former governor of Imo State over allegations of illegal appropriation of wealth.
Although the anti graft agency was yet to begin questioning of Ohakim as at the time of filing this report, sources say he was apprehended in connection with a number of properties traced to him.
There are reports that EFCC operatives invaded the former governors’ Abuja residence on Thursday before whisking him away to their headquarters in the Maitama district.
The former governor had refused to honour an invitation earlier sent to him by the anti corruption agency.
TELL also gathered that Sule Lamido, former governor of Jigawa State was being interrogated by the EFCC after he freely submitted himself to the EFCC at its headquarters in Abuja over issues bordering on bribery and money laundering.
