Ikeja GRA Crowned Lagos’ Best Place to Live, Sparks Debate with Ikoyi, Magodo and Others
Residents hail Ikeja GRA’s security, cleanliness, and steady power supply as it tops Lagos’ residential rankings, sparking fierce debates with Ikoyi, Magodo, and Shonibare Estate.
Ikeja GRA has once again taken the spotlight after being rated as the best place to live in Lagos, beating out heavyweights like Ikoyi, Magodo, and Surulere.
Lagosians point to its steady electricity, clean environment, potable water, tight security, and serene atmosphere as reasons the neighborhood continues to hold the crown.
The conversation, however, didn’t end there. Social media users highlighted Shonibare Estate—an ultra-exclusive and less-talked-about enclave—claiming it is more expensive, more private, and in some cases, even better than Ikeja GRA.
Still, Island loyalists defend Ikoyi as their preferred choice, citing lifestyle, status, and proximity to business districts. Others argue that Magodo, Gbagada, and even Ilupeju deserve recognition in the ongoing “best place to live” debate.
For now, Ikeja GRA’s combination of modern infrastructure, serenity, and livability keeps it firmly at the top of Lagos’ residential rankings.
