At exactly 1.55pm, Prof. Joseph Adeola Afuwape, the Returning Officer for the Osun state governorship election declared the election inconclusive.
According to him, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ademola Adeleke beat his closest rival Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress with a margin of 353 votes.
Afuwape observed that in view of the fact that the number of votes cancelled in voting units in areas like Orolu, Osogbo and Ife South local councils was far more than the margin of win by the candidate with the majority of the votes in the election, the winning votes cannot be upheld.
A new date will be announced for re-run Polls.
