The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced the suspension of the issuance of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, earlier scheduled to begin on Friday, November 7, in Kaduna State.
Halliru Tambuwal, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, announced the postponement at a meeting with stakeholders on Thursday in Kaduna.
Represented by Yusuf Hadejia, the Administrative Secretary, the REC said the issuance of the PVCs would now begin from November 28 to 30 adding that the Continuous Voter Registration, CVR, had also been shifted to December 3 to 8.
He said the postponement was to enable the commission to prepare adequately for the exercise.
