From the just announced local government by local government results of the Edo State governorship primary election of the Edo State All Progressives Congress, APC, held on Monday in the 192 wards of the18 local government areas of the state, Osagie Ize-Iyamu has recorded an overwhelming victory in the election. He is therefore set to be announced the state APC flag bearer in the September 19 poll in the state.
Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, chairman of the Edo State All Progressives Congress Governorship Primary Election Committee presided over the announcement of the results by the respective returning officers. The Committee is presently on break to add up the figures before announcing officially announcing the final results.
A compilation of the announced figures showed that Ize-Iyamu garnered 27, 838 votes, while Pius Odubu, and Osaro Obazee scored 3, 776 and 2, 324 respectively.
