The Malaysian government has officially ruled the disappearance of Malaysian Airline Flight MH370 an accident on Thursday.
Since the Beijing-bound aircraft went missing on March 8, 2014, no trace of it has been discovered.
The Director General of the Department of Civil Aviation, Azharuddin Abdul Rahman announced this at a press conference.
He said it was “with the heaviest heart and deepest sorrow that we officially declare Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 an accident.”
Authorities further said that though search operation is still on, but that the 239 people on-board are now presumed dead.
The officials however added that the search of the missing aircraft is still a priority and that they have pursued “every credible lead.”
