Nassarawa’s First Lady Commends Airtel

Airtel Nigeria, a telecoms operator, has received a pat on the back by Salamatu Al-Makura, wife of Nassarawa state governor, over its life-enriching initiatives. The first lady commended the company while presenting the Airtel Red Hot Promo grand prize to Danjuma Yakubu, the winner of the promo, and the commissioning of Airtel Express Shop recently in Lafia, the state capital. To her, the telecoms operator has demonstrated commitment, concern, care and ability to add value, enrich lives and uplift the standard of living of people in the country.

Al-Makura, who appreciated the company on behalf of the state for creating positive impact on the lives and living standard of subscribers through the Red Hot Promo campaign, added that Airtel has been a strategic partner on many fronts, especially in the pursuit of empowerment for the masses. “It’s empowerment programme is in sync with the state’s pro-people projects targeted at total eradication of poverty. I am particularly interested in this because it shows we are thinking and working alike towards empowering Nigerians by creating wealth and providing conducive environment for them to thrive. In Nassarawa, we are equally providing a unique platform via various pro-people projects that create wealth for the people as we push for the total eradication of poverty in the state,” she disclosed.

The Nassarawa first lady also called on the telecoms operator to consider extending its CSR-based Adopt-A-School programme to the state. She stressed that Airtel had consistently demonstrated it’s being a socially responsible organisation through its people-oriented programmes and projects.

Meanwhile, Airtel Nigeria has assured on its continued commitment to empower subscribers on the network through the provision of unequalled telecoms experience on data and voice services supported by various reward schemes. Segun Ogunsanya, Airtel’s chief executive officer, assured the state’s residents that the commitment of his company to its esteemed customers remains unshaken because it recognises them.
